Football Recap: Half Hollow Hills East Comes Up Short

The matchup between Half Hollow Hills East and Northport on Saturday hardly resembled the 27-0 effort from their previous meeting. The RedHawks were dealt a 55-21 defeat at the hands of the Tigers. The RedHawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northport to victory, but perhaps none more so than Simon Blissett, who threw for 261 yards and four TDs while completing 88.9% of his passes. Those 261 passing yards gave Blissett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daniel Miller, who picked up 110 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Half Hollow Hills East's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Northport, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Half Hollow Hills East will face off against Newfield at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Northport, they will square off against Connetquot at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
