Basketball Game Preview: Wiscasset Wolverines vs. Buckfield Bucks

The Wiscasset Wolverines will face off against the Buckfield Bucks at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Buckfield will be up against a hot Wiscasset team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Wiscasset put the hurt on Searsport with a sharp 64-43 victory on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Buckfield had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 78-56 margin over the Breakers.

Wiscasset pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Buckfield, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Wiscasset was able to grind out a solid win over Buckfield when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 68-61. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wiscasset since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
