Softball Recap: Martin Luther Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Martin Luther had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 14-8 margin over Varsity Opponent. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against Varsity Opponent back in April, they had to take a 18-17 defeat.

Malina Singh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on three hits.

On the hitting side, Martin Luther got a massive performance out of Lydia Schulze, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Isabella Pinal, who went 1-for-5 with three stolen bases and three runs.

Martin Luther's victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Martin Luther does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-5 win against Mount Olive Christian on the 8th.
