Volleyball Recap: Winston Academy Comes Up Short

Winston Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Lamar Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.

Winston Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Lamar, the win (which was their seventh in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Winston Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Heritage Academy at 11:00 a.m. on August 9. As for Lamar, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Christ Covenant at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
