Football Recap: Thomas Jefferson Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Thomas Jefferson can now relate to. They fell just short of the Kettle Run Cougars by a score of 35-32 on Friday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Vikings, who until this contest were averaging 6.77 points allowed.

Despite the loss, Thomas Jefferson still got an impressive performance from Rashaud Cherry, who rushed for 97 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 312 yards and one touchdown while picking up 13.6 yards per attempt. The dominant performance gave Cherry a new career-high in passing yards. Amare? Gough was Cherry's top target, picking up 139 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Jonathan Taylor went supernova for Kettle Run, rushing for 65 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also picking up 69 receiving yards. Colton Quaker was another key player, rushing for 74 yards and one touchdown.

Thomas Jefferson's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-1. As for Kettle Run, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
