Volleyball Recap: Southern Valley Falls to Perkins County

Southern Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Perkins County Plainsmen.

While Southern Valley had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-19.

Lauren Quinn paced Southern Valley's offense, picking up seven kills. Quinn got some help from Emercen Lovitt and her seven assists. Haisley McQuiston controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Ella Homan, who had eight digs and four aces. Another player making a difference was Addison York, who had eight kills and two solo blocks.

Southern Valley has now lost seven of their last eight games at home. That leaves them at an 0-7 record this season. As for Perkins County, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Southern Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Southwest on the 12th. As for Perkins County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Pleasanton on the 12th.
