Softball Recap: Concord Snags 12th Win in Last 16 Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Concord had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Sacred Heart Rebels a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Pirates have won 14 matchups by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Concord is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Sacred Heart, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-6.

Looking ahead, Concord will challenge Taylor at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. Sacred Heart does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
