            Baseball Recap: Uniontown Red Raiders vs. Elizabeth Forward Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            Uniontown extended their losing streak  to eight  on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 2-15 in the process. They came up short against  the Elizabeth Forward Warriors, falling  10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  12-0  on Monday.
As for Elizabeth Forward, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.6 runs over those games.
For Elizabeth Forward's part,  Charlie Nigut and  Jacob Peterson were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Nigut   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  Peterson   didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Nigut has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate,  Nigut  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  doubles, while  Peterson  went 1-for-2 with two  RBI and one  double. That's the most  doubles  Nigut has posted since back in May of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Mitchell Vuick was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in April of 2024.  JB Crovak also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
 Uniontown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elizabeth Forward, they will face off against Trinity at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday.
