Baseball Recap: Starmont Picks Up 12th Consecutive Win

Starmont had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Thursday. They never let the Calamus-Wheatland Warriors get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Stars also won the last time the pair played back in June of 2024.

Starmont's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Calamus-Wheatland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Starmont will challenge Maquoketa Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Calamus-Wheatland, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-1 loss against Tipton on the 20th.
