With a playoff win on the line, Torres rose to the challenge  on Friday. They put the hurt on the Roosevelt Rough Riders with a sharp  16-9 victory. The result was nothing new for the Toros, who have now won 12 matchups by seven  runs or more  so far this season.
The  win (which was Torres' fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-13. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Roosevelt,  with the  defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-13.
 Looking ahead, Torres is taking a road trip to  take on King City  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Toros' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 9.3  runs per game this season. Roosevelt does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
