Basketball Recap: Osceola Extends Winning Streak to Three

Osceola entered their tilt with Heartland on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 57-48 victory over the Heartland Huskies. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Huskies, too.

Osceola's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kelby Neujahr, who posted 13 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. Neujahr has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 14 times he's played. Boston Hinkle was another key player, going 5-for-12 en route to 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Despite the loss, Heartland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Maddox Regier went 8-for-13 to rack up 20 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Thane Wetjen, who earned eight points in addition to nine rebounds and five assists.

Osceola's record is now 13-9. As for Heartland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

Osceola didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-54 defeat against Shelby-Rising City on the 14th. Heartland has also already played their next contest (against Tri County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
