Recap: Forest Lake Academy Panthers vs. Bishop Moore Hornets
It was a good run, but the Forest Lake Academy Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were dealt a 77-45 defeat at the hands of Bishop Moore. While losing is never fun, Forest Lake Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 525th, while Bishop Moore is ranked 226th).
Despite the loss, Forest Lake Academy still got an impressive performance from Isaac Lopez, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Jordan Hodge, who scored eight points.
Bishop Moore got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cameron Codio out in front who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Suarez, who scored nine points along with seven assists.
Forest Lake Academy now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Bishop Moore, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.
Forest Lake Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Legacy Charter at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Legacy Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 two weeks ago. As for Bishop Moore, they will head out on the road to face off against Altamonte Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Altamonte Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Bishop Moore likes a good challenge.
