Basketball Game Preview: Frontenac Raiders vs. Galena Bulldogs

Frontenac hasn't had much luck against Galena recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Frontenac Raiders will take on the Galena Bulldogs. One thing working in Frontenac's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matches.

If Frontenac beats Galena with 59 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Frontenac beat Riverton on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 59-51.

Meanwhile, Galena put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 57-38 victory over Baxter Springs. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Lions are ranked 292nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Frontenac has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-10-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for Galena, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0.

Frontenac couldn't quite finish off Galena in their previous matchup last Thursday and fell 58-56. Can Frontenac avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
