Softball Recap: Stockton Takes a Loss

Stockton lost against Marionville back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tigers fell just short of the Comets by a score of 8-7. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Raelyn Henderson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Gracie Abercrombie, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Stockton's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Marionville, they moved to 10-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Stockton will face off against Lockwood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Lockwood's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Stockton's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Marionville, they will challenge Diamond at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Comets surely won't give up without a fight.
