Football Game Preview: Palmyra Panthers vs. Monroe City Panthers

Palmyra will take on Monroe City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Palmyra is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Clark County 69-18. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Indians are ranked 257th).

Meanwhile, Monroe City came tearing into last Friday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.4 points), and they left with even more momentum. They breezed past the Tigers to the tune of 54-21.

Monroe City's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Palmyra, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Palmyra came up short against Monroe City in their previous meeting back in October, falling 26-20. Can Palmyra avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
