Basketball Recap: Southern Wayne Comes Up Short

Southern Wayne was the 27-12 winner over Rosewood when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Southern Wayne Saints took a 51-37 bruising from the Rosewood Eagles on Saturday. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Southern Wayne still got an impressive performance from Nevaeh Hines-Bass, who posted 19 points. Hines-Bass has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kymora Stokes, who had ten points.

Southern Wayne's record now sits at 2-5. As for Rosewood, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Southern Wayne will head out to take on Eastern Wayne at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rosewood, they will host Spring Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
