Baseball Recap: Sanger West Wins Going Away Against Hoover

Sanger West came out on top against Hoover on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run sixth inning. The Hornets were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Patriots. That's two games straight that the Hornets have won by exactly ten runs.

Koby Daoheuang made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jovanni Quintana was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. He has become a key player for Sanger West: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Aydan De Leon, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Sanger West and bumps their season record up to 5-12. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 10 runs. As for Hoover, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Sanger West will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
