Baseball Recap: Bristol Beats Jenkintown for Their Fourth Straight Win

Bristol had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Jenkintown on Tuesday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Drakes with a sharp 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won seven matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Trae Anthony was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Anthony was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Bristol let Dom Capriotti and Cole Guy run wild. Capriotti went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Guy went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Guy is becoming a predictor of Bristol's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Eddy Diaz was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Bristol always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jenkintown only posted an OBP of .250.

The win was the fourth in a row for Bristol, bringing their record up to 12-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Jenkintown, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bristol will take on Dock Mennonite at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jenkintown, they will square off against Germantown Friends at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
