The Viewmont Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Bountiful RedHawks at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, Viewmont earned a 7-3 win over Woods Cross. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.

The team relied heavily on Kade Marriott, who went 1-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. He has become a key player for Viewmont: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 8-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Gehrig Lee, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Bountiful came out on top against Bonneville on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The RedHawks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Lakers a 10-0 shutout. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the RedHawks this season.
Not much got past Corey Erickson, who gave up just a hit to keep Bonneville off the board.
On the hitting side, Kyson Burningham and Jackson Kyhl did most of the damage at the plate: Burningham went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Kyhl went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave Burningham a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Stapley, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Bountiful always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Bountiful is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Viewmont, their record now sits at 12-9.
Viewmont was able to grind out a solid victory over Bountiful in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 5-2. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the RedHawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
