Volleyball Recap: Simi Valley Takes a Loss

Simi Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Oak Park Eagles, falling 3-0. If the Pioneers were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Eagles when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-11, 25-15.

Simi Valley's offense was headlined by Kira Blakemore and Alex Longmore, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Tanner Vernarde and her 23 assists. Tila Pham controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Simi Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Oak Park, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Simi Valley will challenge Immaculate Heart at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Oak Park, they will welcome Camarillo at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
