Baseball Recap: Evangel Christian Academy Takes a Loss

If Evangel Christian Academy was feeling good fresh off their 19-4 takedown of Custer County last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell just short of the Front Range Christian Falcons by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. That makes it the first time this season the Eagles have let down their home crowd.

Nate Lucia made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Evangel Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Zachary Blair was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-4.

Evangel Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Front Range Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evangel Christian Academy will face off against Harrison at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Front Range Christian, they will take on Clear Creek at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
