Cardinal Gibbons had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Sanderson Spartans. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Sophie Cygnarowicz made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cardinal Gibbons got a massive performance out of Becca Jordan, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave Jordan a new career-high. Mallory Kelly was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Cardinal Gibbons kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Cardinal Gibbons' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Sanderson, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Cardinal Gibbons will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
