Volleyball Recap: St. Peter's Starts Season with Defeat at Home

St. Peter unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 2-0 to the First Baptist Christian Sabres on Saturday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-3, 25-10.

First Baptist Christian found their leader in sophomore Jayla Guzman, who had five aces and two assists.

First Baptist Christian now has a winning record of 2-1.

St. Peter's will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Medina Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on September 2. As for First Baptist Christian, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Hartville Christian on the 23rd.
