Baseball Game Preview: Gibbs Eagles vs. Carter Green Hornets

The Gibbs Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Carter Green Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carter took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Gibbs, who comes in off a win.

Gibbs is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Cumberland Gap on Monday as they made off with a 14-4 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Carter suffered their closest defeat since March 13, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Morristown-Hamblen East by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Green Hornets couldn't push the score so high this time.

Carter saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Cardwell, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Carter's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Gibbs, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.

Gibbs came out on top in a nail-biter against Carter in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 8-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
