Basketball Recap: South Panola Comes Up Short

South Panola had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-3 to make it five. They took a blow against the DeSoto Central Jaguars, falling 68-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since January 17th.

As for DeSoto Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The matchup marked their most dominant win of the season so far.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead DeSoto Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hunter Avant, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Smith, who put up eight points and three steals.

Looking ahead, South Panola will challenge Independence at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for DeSoto Central, they will take on Bayou Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
