Baseball Game Preview: Chavez Titans vs. Delano Tigers

Chavez and Delano are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but likely not for long. Chavez will welcome Delano at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chavez will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Wednesday, Chavez was able to grind out a solid win over Independence, taking the game 9-6.

Daniel Carrillo was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Benji Perez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Chavez was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Delano lost 15-1 to Chavez on Tuesday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chavez pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Delano, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Chavez took their victory against Delano in their previous meeting on Tuesday by a conclusive 15-1. Will Chavez repeat their success, or does Delano has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
