Forest waltzed into their match on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came out on top against the Mainland Buccaneers by a score of 53-44. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 61-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Forest's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ja'Niyah McCoy, who went 6 of 8 en route to 16 points along with five assists and three steals. McCoy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jiyah Hamilton, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 12 points and five assists.

Forest's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Mainland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Forest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 94-53 loss against St. Thomas Aquinas on the 28th. As for Mainland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 39-34 victory against Menendez on the 28th.
