Softball Recap: Chattanooga Central Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Chattanooga Central never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the East Ridge Pioneers as the Chattanooga Central Pounders made off with a 19-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Pounders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Marisa Salinas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Salinas was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double.

In other batting news, Emma Lakin was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. Kennedi Sabb was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Chattanooga Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .818. The last time their OBP was this high was since the start of last season.

Chattanooga Central's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Chattanooga Central will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m. As for East Ridge, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Ooltewah at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. East Ridge has now lost 14 straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 8.
