Volleyball Recap: Mimi Cochran's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tree of Life Christian over Shekinah Christian

Tree of Life Christian lost against Shekinah Christian back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Trojans fell 3-1 to the Flames. While the Trojans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Flames 25-20 in the first set.

Tree of Life Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-20.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mimi Cochran, who had 14 assists and 13 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Donnally, who had 18 assists and four digs.

Shekinah Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eleyna Beachy led the charge by getting 13 digs and two aces. Beachy has been hot for a while, having also posted 15 or more assists the last 29 times she's played. Haylee Beachy was another key player, getting 29 digs.

Tree of Life Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Shekinah Christian, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Tree of Life Christian has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Madison Christian on the 28th. As for Shekinah Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Liberty Christian Academy on the 28th.
