Softball Game Preview: Lone Pine Eagles vs. Trona Tornadoes

The Lone Pine Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Trona Tornadoes at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lone Pine's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.

On Tuesday, Lone Pine got the win against Mojave by a conclusive 18-4. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by nine runs or more this season.

Lone Pine got a massive performance out of Allisson Villa, who went 3-for-4 with four runs and two doubles. Selena Pedan was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lone Pine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Trona lost 16-3 to Immanuel Christian on Tuesday.

Lone Pine pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.7 runs over those games. As for Trona, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Both Lone Pine and Trona just can't seem to miss. The Eagles have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 15.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Trona struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Lone Pine might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Trona in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
