Baseball Recap: Oak Hall Victorious

Oak Hall's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Seven Rivers Christian Warriors. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Lincoln Jones was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Oak Hall's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 4-7 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Gavin Jones was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He has become a key player for Oak Hall: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 3-7 otherwise.

Oak Hall's record now sits at 6-8. As for Seven Rivers Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-12.

Looking ahead, Oak Hall will host Eastside at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Lakeside Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
