Baseball Game Preview: Page County Panthers vs. Clarke County Eagles

The Page County Panthers will head out to challenge the Clarke County Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarke County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Page County, who comes in off a win.

Page County barely beat Stonewall Jackson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Generals a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The contest marked the Panthers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Gavin Henry was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Collin Murphy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one triple.

Page County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.

Meanwhile, Clarke County lost 14-4 to Strasburg on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost five in a row.

The win was the third in a row for Page County, bringing their record up to 4-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Clarke County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Page County suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Clarke County in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
