Baseball Game Preview: South Bend Washington Panthers vs. Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies

The South Bend Washington Panthers will challenge the Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when South Bend Washington duked it out with 21st Century Charter on Saturday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Cougars. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Plymouth, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Tippecanoe Valley on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pilgrims/Rockies have posted since May 6th.

Aiden Landis looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Plymouth saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Wolfe, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Plymouth has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for South Bend Washington, their record now sits at 7-14.
