Softball Game Preview: Deer Valley Skyhawks vs. Westview Knights

For the second straight game, Deer Valley will face off against Westview. Deer Valley will take on Westview at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Deer Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Westview's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Deer Valley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Westview, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Deer Valley never let Westview get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Skyhawks, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Adyson Ordway made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leila Hermosillo, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Avyanah Seely, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Deer Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .758. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Deer Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3-1 record this season.
