Basketball Recap: Alex Davis Key Part of a Team Effort in Tigers Win

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for North Penn-Mansfield on Friday. They took down the Sayre Redskins 50-31. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while the Redskins are ranked 423rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Penn-Mansfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Davis out in front who posted 15 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Davis has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times he's played. Andy Hermansen was another key player, putting up 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Despite the loss, Sayre still got an impressive performance from Ryan Ressler, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards.

North Penn-Mansfield is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
