Football Recap: River Valley Piles Up the Points Against Conemaugh Valley

River Valley extended their winning streak to six on Friday, bumping them up to 7-1. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays 46-14. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.

River Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Max Persichetti, who rushed for 26 yards and one score, and also threw for 27 yards and one TD. Brodie Forsha made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

River Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jayden Kehathilwe and Forsha. Forsha got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As for Conemaugh Valley, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 541st, while River Valley is ranked 266th).

Despite the loss, Conemaugh Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Xzavior Tatum rushed for 74 yards and six touchdowns.

The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Panthers 13.2, the Stingers 14.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Conemaugh Valley is set to take on their familiar foe West Shamokin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
