Kalida waltzed into their contest on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Archbold Blue Streaks. Surprisingly, this marked the Wildcats' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Kalida had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 13-25, 25-15, 25-18, 15-12.

Malia Romes paced Kalida's offense, picking up 22 kills. Romes got some help from Gwen Stechschulte and her 19 assists. Romes was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Kalida's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Archbold, their loss ended an eight-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-3.

Kalida has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Russia on the 27th. As for Archbold, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Tinora on the 27th.
