South Warren came tearing into Saturday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 71-64 victory over the Owensboro Red Devils. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Red Devils are ranked 115th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Warren's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Owensboro, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

South Warren and Kirkwood will round out the year against one another at at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Owensboro, they will face off against Carlisle County at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Owensboro's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
