Softball Recap: Clark Cougars vs. Johnson Jaguars

While Clark couldn't quite beat Johnson on Saturday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the seven-point defeat they were dealt last Tuesday. The Clark Cougars fell just short of the Johnson Jaguars by a score of 9-7. It was the first time this season that Clark let down their fans at home.

Heaven Villarreal was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Soncia Hughes, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

On Johnson's side, Maleena Moreno made a big impact no matter where she played. Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clark will face off against Churchill at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Johnson, they will head out on the road to challenge Reagan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Johnson is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
