Flag Football Recap: St. Mary's Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for St. Mary's offense. They were dealt a 47-0 loss at the hands of the Xavier College Prep Gators on Thursday. The defeat leaves the Knights still looking for their first win of the season.

Sophia Leivian threw for 171 yards on 17 of 29 attempts. Mia Chacon was her top target, picking up 83 receiving yards.

The critical scores for Xavier College Prep came from Ava Portillo and Cooper Hidalgo.

St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Xavier College Prep, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. St. Mary's will square off against Coronado at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Xavier College Prep, they will face off against Perry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Gators 2, the Pumas 9.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
