Piper had won 14 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 3-1 to make it 15. They snuck past the Shawnee Heights Thunderbirds with a 72-68 victory. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Thunderbirds, too.

As for Shawnee Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (61), they still had to take the loss.

Several Thunderbirds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cam Ross, who went 8-for-14 on his way to 20 points and six boards. Jaimarion Cook was another key player, shooting 56% from the field to rack up 12 points and three steals.

Coming up, Piper is taking a road trip to square off against West at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shawnee Heights, they will be home for the holidays to greet Manhattan at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
