Franklin County and Tullahoma are an even 4-4 against one another since August of 2015, but not for long. The Rebels will venture away from home to challenge the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin County is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Franklin County is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Lawrence County on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Rebels took a blow against the Wildcats, falling 52-7. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Wildcats are ranked 114th).

Meanwhile, Tullahoma and Rockvale were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but Tullahoma suffered a 37-36 defeat.

Franklin County will have to keep a close watch on Marvancy Johnson and Lucas Reed, a pair of players who had a big impact on Tullahoma's prior game. Johnson gained 106 total yards, while Reed threw for 139 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Reed's passing game has become a key predictor of Tullahoma's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise.

Tullahoma's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Franklin County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Franklin County was dealt a bruising 48-10 loss at the hands of Tullahoma when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Rebels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
