Volleyball Recap: Ava Seitner Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Cannon County

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gordonsville, Cumberland County was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Cannon County Lions with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Cumberland County took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-5, 25-12.

Cumberland County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ava Seitner out in front who had six aces and four digs. Those six aces gave Seitner a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaleeya Mosby, who had five aces.

They weren't the only good server: Cumberland County was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 24 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Cumberland County's record is now 18-10. As for Cannon County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Cumberland County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Knoxville T on the 19th. As for Cannon County, they are taking a road trip to take on Livingston Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
