Basketball Preview: Plaquemine Green Devils vs. Belaire Bengals

Plaquemine is 7-2 against the Bengals since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Plaquemine Green Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Belaire Bengals at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After a string of four wins, Plaquemine's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 37-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brusly.
Plaquemine's loss came about despite a quality game from Maddison Mitchell, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Mitchell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Londyn Christmas, who scored two points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Belaire's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight defeat. They were outmatched by East Feliciana at home and fell 44-16.
Plaquemine's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-7. As for Belaire, they dropped their record down to 1-16 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Plaquemine against the Bengals when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 59-15 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Plaquemine since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
