Silver Valley skates past Lucerne Valley with ease

Recap: Silver Valley Trojans vs. Lucerne Valley Mustangs

The Silver Valley Trojans waltzed into their matchup Tuesday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They blew past Lucerne Valley 77-13 at home. Considering Silver Valley has won seven games by more than 25 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Silver Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stephen Crawford, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The matchup was Crawford's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jasean Phillips, who scored 12 points along with four steals.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Lucerne Valley struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Silver Valley pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.2 points per game. As for Lucerne Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Silver Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against University Prep at 5:30 p.m. on December 13th. University Prep comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Lucerne Valley, they will be playing at home against Big Bear at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Averaging 62.7 so far this season, Big Bear's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Lucerne Valley better be ready for a challenge.
