Baseball Recap: Dirigo Falls to Hall-Dale in First Game of Season

Dirigo had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Hall-Dale Bulldogs by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 17 in a row.

Ethan Olsen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominick Varnum, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The win got Hall-Dale back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Dirigo is set to face off against their familiar foe Lisbon at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hall-Dale will challenge rival Mountain Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
