Softball Recap: Normal West Wildcats vs. Peoria Lions

After only two runs in their last match, Normal West made sure to put some runs up on the board against Peoria on Tuesday. The Wildcats blew past the Lions 20-1. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won nine in a row.

Hope Ferrill made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Ferrill was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ciera Beyers and Olivia Kobel did most of the damage at the plate: Beyers got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI and one run, while Kobel went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave Beyers a new career-high. Hannah Cunningham also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
