Baseball Recap: Carlin Takes a Loss

Carlin had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Silver Stage Nighthawks on Friday, falling 19-12. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 20 in a row.

Holden Nalley stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tryston Martinez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Even though they lost, Carlin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Silver Stage struck out seven times.

The win was the third in a row for Silver Stage, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Coming up, Carlin will head out on the road to challenge Sierra Lutheran at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Silver Stage, they will be taking part in a tournament against Excel Christian at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
