Basketball Game Preview: Mooreville Troopers vs. Ripley Tigers

The Mooreville Troopers are taking a road trip to take on the Ripley Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mooreville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

If Mooreville beats Ripley with 70 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Troopers really took it to Walnut for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-36 win. With the Troopers ahead 47-18 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Ripley sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 85-82 victory over Wheeler on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Ripley's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Mooreville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Mooreville beat Ripley 52-40 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Troopers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
