Basketball Recap: Saranac Lake Comes Up Short

Saranac Lake lost against Moriah back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Saranac Lake Red Storm took a blow against the Moriah Vikings, falling 63-22. While losing is never fun, the Red Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while the Vikings are ranked 32nd).

Saranac Lake's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Ladue, who posted 11 points. Those 11 points gave Ladue a new career-high. Emma Akey was another key player, putting up eight points.

Saranac Lake's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Moriah, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Saranac Lake will face off against Northeastern Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Moriah, they will head out to face off against Chazy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
